Class Descriptions

At Life Moves Yoga we offer a variety of classes designed with your busy schedule and your varying needs in mind. Practice in the morning, mid day, or evening. Work up a sweat and build strength, endurance, and flexibility with our infrared hot flow classes, or take a break from the chaos of life and relax, refresh and renew your body, mind and spirit with a gentle or restorative class.

Warm & Gentle Hatha Yoga

 

Gentle yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga and focuses on very gentle and mindful movement, light stretching and breathing. It is appropriate for all levels, particularly students who are new to yoga, individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses, seniors, or students with limited or restricted mobility. Chairs are available for those who are unable to work on the floor. This class will be slightly warmed by the radiant infrared heat. (78-82 degrees.) 

Gentle Hatha Yoga

 

Gentle yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga and focuses on very gentle and mindful movement, stretching and breath work.  It is appropriate for all levels, particularly students brand new to yoga, individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses, women who are pregnant, or students with restricted or limited mobility.  Many of the postures are seated or reclined, and the wall is often used to assist in the standing postures. Chairs are also available for those who are unable to work down on the mat. Appropriate props and modifications are used throughout the class. (Some of our gentle classes will be warmed by our infrared heating panels.)

Hot Hatha Yoga

 

The breath is at the heart of this slower paced vinyasa class, designed to help you improve your balance, find your focus, increase your flexibility, build core strength and discover the light within you.  You will be guided through a mindfully designed sequence of standing and seated postures linking breath and movement and helping you tap into your inner resources. This class is appropriate for all levels including beginners, and will include more dynamic movement than the gentle yoga classes. Some movements may be difficult for those with limited mobility. (Hot Hatha classes will be warmed by our infrared heating panels up to 95 degrees.)

Hot Vinyasa Flow Yoga

 

Often referred to as a moving meditation, vinyasa yoga is a dynamic, inspiring practice characterized by breath-synchronized movement.  This class will take you through a mindfully designed sequence or flow, moving through seated and standing postures at a steady pace as you build heat, increase strength, improve flexibility, and find inner stillness.  Vinyasa is an athletic style of yoga.  While it is appropriate for all levels including some beginners, students with limited or restricted mobility or those who are recovering from illness or injury may find it too challenging. This class will be heated from 95-103 degrees so bring a towel and be prepared to sweat!

Fire Vinyasa Flow Yoga

 

Take your practice to a new level with this intermediate to advanced level, energizing and athletic vinyasa class.  Safely experiment with arm balances, inversions and challenging transitions as you strengthen, detoxify and build endurance.  This class is not recommended for beginners and yoga experience is recommended. The class will be heated from 95-103 degrees.
